Welcome to Ilchester Cricket Club

Sunday 4th May 2008

Yet another frustrating Sunday, this time no play at all, caused by the weather.

For the second successive weekend, the onset of April rain overtook a sunny start to prevent Ilchester from completing a game of cricket.........more

The first match of the season, against Broadwindsor, sadly had to be abandoned after a lengthy shower. Report.

Ilchester Cricket Club was established in 2000 by the Postmaster of Ilchester, Mike Morley, whose vision was to provide an opportunity for the people of Ilchester and the surrounding area to play cricket, with sportsmanship rather than sporting excellence being the central theme.
Membership is derived almost wholly from within the Parish of Ilchester and, although playing membership is currently all male, this is most certainly not a requirement; the Club welcomes men and women, old and young, of any standard.
Ilchester Cricket Club boasts wonderful hospitality; it is said that the teas are amongst the best in South Somerset! The Club is fortunate to benefit from excellent support from the Ilchester Town Trust, Ilchester Parish Council and also one or two local businesses. If you have any queries about the Club, please use the Contact Us link on the Home Page.
